Frog Dissection

Recently I did a frog dissection in school. It was kinda freaky at first but after I felt that it was pretty interesting. I did the dissection with 3 other people.

So during the process I took some pictures and I thought I might share it with you guys.

Some of them might be a bit blurry since I took it with my cellphone.
If you're afraid of blood etc, I suggest you do not look at this. It is quite cruel, sacrificing frogs for our education. It's in links so that people can click if they want to.

Those are pretty cool! I remember we dissected frogs way back in high school, but more recently, in general bio we dissected fetal pigs; that was pretty cool.


You said you've got a video of the heart beating... you don't mean frog heart do you? You didn't dissect live frogs I hope?

Yes it's the frog's heart. We dissected a dead frog but the heart was still beating.

Yeah, using animals to dissect them is cruel.I'm happy I haven't got to do this during my medicine studies. We dissect human bodies.

If it's done right, it isn't excessively cruel (or at least no moreso than any animal sacrifice for human uses).

We used to decapitate our frogs - they were still alive, but couldn't process and pain.

The question is what's more cruel, dissecting animals or eating them alive ?
