Actually there isn't ever a disease to begin with if you think of it that way.

Infection with a toxin producing bacteria isn't a disease?

But your bacteria isn't producing any toxins. Only after infection does it produce toxins but before it doesn't.

That's almost like saying the body is diseased because the cells are susceptible to being infected by virii which can transform them into cancer cells.

you make a very good point. But, pneumonia and other diseases are definetly diseases, I don't think that there is any way to dispute that.

Antibiotics have no effect on viruses. Antibiotics are biologic products obtained from fungus and other biological entities used in the treatment of bacterial diseases. Antibiotics target the cell wall and replicating proteins of the bacteria to destroy (lyse) them.

maybe she is taking the word "anitbiotics" as if it includes antiviral drugs
