hanging drop..hello..
am totally new to microbio.. was wondering.. why do we look at the edge of the hanging drop for viewing motility of bacteria.....?
Thats bcoz, as the bacteria are alive, and if they bear any locomotory organelle, say flagella for instance, will try to move to the edges to escape the anaerobic conditions inside that coverslip. So, motile bacteria are often found on the edges to recieve oxygen.
