ok please note that i know this is an online site that anyone can post, and i by no means am asking for a diognosis, but i am having trouble, i have no idea what is wrong so im going to my GP to find out and im going to see if you can guess what my condition is

ok about a week ago i started getting a numbness in my hands early in the mornings and late at nights, this continued for a couple days i didn't take any notice of it.
after three days the numbness was almost constant, i could not feel my hands completely, i still had use of them, it just felt like they wer dis-attatched from my arms.
dressing in the morning is a weird experience, because i cannot feel my hands and it is as if it is someone else touching me.

anyway thats whats hapening, if you have any ideas on whats happening let me know,

however!!!! if you think it needs immidiate action please private message me!!!! because im flat on cash and the local GP is a rip-off

Ouch the wonders of private medicine...

To be honest, this could be something as simple as a change of habit or a newly developed allergy; do you sit on your hands or somehow stress your wrists maybe absent-mindedly? Maybe you changed the way you sleep?

I once woke up with a numb knee. Stayed that way for 2 weeks until an enormous bruise came up under the kneecap. Very odd, and I still have no idea how I did it.

Could also be emotional (believe it or not), everything ok in the old cog-factory lately?

If it was nerve-related then you'd expect the arms to be affected too...but to tell you the truth Im not a Doctor (yet).

Are you a diabetic? My dad had diabetic nurapathy (sp?) and he has constant numbness in his hands and most of his legs from the knee down. His started about two years ago. It first happened in his feet and came on without warning. It has done nothing but gotten worse since then.

(Neuropathy). That sounds rather unpleasant. Saying that, the left side of my chest is vaguely numb since surgery years ago and it's nothing but fun!

its not fun. he stepped on a razor blade in the bathroom one morning and didn't feel it. He put his sock on and everything. Had no clue. We got to the doctor's office and she takes of his shoe to look at his foot and freaks out. Lucky thing it was blade side down. I can't begin to imagine what would have happened had the blade been against his foot with him walking on it for 2 hours. We have to be very careful at my house.

Im certainly no expert but ill go for.....

....Possible nerve impingment. Different nerve paths innervate different areas.

Reflex tests on arm and wrist show responses for the different pathways within cervical vertebrae.

Have you had a bump, fall, slip that may have jarred the cervical spine?

i put off seeing the gp because as i said they are greatly overpriced.

the numbness faded after the secound week so im happy, thanks for your thoughts.
