So you can spam easier?

Actually the "5 posts before posting links" rule is useful. You may not be able to post links but you can still type in the url of the website so people can copy and paste the link so the can still get on the website.

This idea has been proposed before, and those of us who have been here a while and remember the problems we used to have with spam wholeheartedly support this rule. It causes no serious problem for new members (It's not hard at all to get five posts anyway.) and it majorly cuts down on the spam problem.

I think they should bump it up to 10, it's too easy to get 5.

That might actually be a good idea.

Sounds reasonable to me as well.
Why can't this be left blank?

Well considering the spam problem, i.e. very little now, I think the current policy works nicely.

Yeah 5 posts before a link shouldn't be too much of a fuss for everyone.
