this has already been asked recently but urine is what you want to drink if you are stranded somewhere for a very long time.

Hmm, theres a reason why our body gets rid of waste, I would trust this mechanism. Urea is a poison, and the urine no doubt has dangerous bacteria in.

As said in an earlier topic there are no bacteria in fresh urine, it is just a good growth medium. Except of course if you have urinary tract infection. Just drink it right out of the "tap' of an healthy person, and you won't bother with the bacteria.

If you are not too dehydrated, Urea and other wastes concentration in you urine is not dangerous. And you could drink it without being poisoned. But I am not sure that it may be beneficial to drink it... It contains waste, why then want to have them again

Now, however *I*, for sure, am really dubious about the taste, and do not want to taste it! But be my guest, these are your tastebuds...

Right, uric acid is poisonous but they are converted to the less harmful urea when passed out.

Here's a site for all you weirdos lol. j/k http://www.innerself.com/Health/urine.htm

A direct quote from the site, "Healthy urine, especially the first evacuation in the morning, always tastes salty and bitter. This taste, however, will not be conducted through the capillaries of the tongue, but solely through the nose. If you pinch your nose while drinking, you will not taste anything."

Are you sure about that? I think urea is more toxic than uric acid. Traces of arsenic ( :!: ) are also in urine. Funny you should bring up this topic though, about a week after me seeing a kid pee into a bottle of orange soda and drink it. :?

Anyway, there are that cultures embrace urine drinking. I read online about a 2001 survey that said that 3 million Chinese people drink a glass of the waste daily. Groups of people in India also believe in the practice.

Turns out humans aren't the only species interested in drinking waste either:
Domesticated reindeer, subsisting in the harsh habitat of the artic circle, happily permit their keepers to urinate directly into their mouths, appreciatively guzzling down the warm, mineral and vitamin-rich moisture. And butterflies, those graceful beauties of park and garden, sip a great deal more than flower nectar. Urine (human and non-human) is actually an important part of their nutritional intake.
