When luteinising hormone (LH) production in women stops,what do they experience? Prenancy? Menopause? Menstruation? Labour Pain???

One hypothesis is that when the ovaries shut down in menopause, LH rises to try to get a cycle started (it'll give up eventually), and that produces a lot of the symptoms of menopause. When the LH levels drop, the symptoms are supposed to go away.

LH synthesis also drops at menopause, in each menstrual cycle. It's really a lot to explain here. a very elaborate dance of hormones that regulate themselves both positively and negatively. Try searching on google. We would be more than happy to answer any questions regarding it, since it is kinda hard to grasp.

When a woman is pregnant, the corpus luteum will keep on producing progesterone that will stop the production of LH.

As Such, LH will of course stop production.

Is this what your book is trying to explain?

Ignore what i said. i actually made two mistakes.
One: I was thinking menstruation, not menopause
Two: Though it is LH in my post, it was progesteron in my head, which decreases at menstruation
I appologise again.
Yes, LH synthesis does decrease at pregnancy. It's role is taken over my HCG

Just to summarise (most points have been already made)

Menstral cycle:
Day 1-14 = LH production increases slowly (effect of FSH production cauising development of thecal cells of oocyte)
Day 14 ('ovulation') = LH surge (positive feedback due to oestrogen)
Day 14-28 = High progesterone -> Inhibition of LH

[NB. Day 28 is menstration]

Pregnancy: High progesterone production -> Inhibition of LH

At birth: Decreased progesterone -> LH produced the same as start of menstral cycle

Menopause: Decreased oestrogen production -> LH levels rises*

This occurs due to production of hCG (human chorionic gonadotrophin) by the menstral lying as a result of implantation of the embryo... but the corpus luteum will still degenerate after ~6 weeks... After 6 week the placenta takes over production of progesterone...
