I've got mine on a sandy substrate that works for egg-laying, under lights timed to be on 12 hours a day (they have a large piece of driftwood to hide under). I feed them flake fish food, which they do well on. My colonie has been going strong for about a year now, but crashed for no apparent reason about a year ago.

Replace the substrate with sand and for the lights too. I have never successfully maintained a culture.

Darby you have any idea as to what kinda experimentation can be done with these crickets.

Keep it basic and something that can be done on groups. I raise mine as food for various animals, and haven't done research on crickets since grad school (it was digestive enzyme assays, and I basrely remember any of it).
