Benefits of vitamine DVitamin D is important for maintaining strong and healthy bones and protects against the rickets and osteomalacia (softening of the bones in adults caused by inability to properly deposit calcium). People who do not receive direct sunlight for at least 45 minutes per week should make sure they are getting enough vitamin D through fortified milk and dairy products, or taking a vitamin D supplement like Calciferol, calcitrol, cholecalciferol, ergocalciferol or a multivitamin containing vitamin D.
The new research strengthens the case made by some specialists that vitamin D may be a powerful cancer preventive and most people should get more of it.
I have been taking both A and D for some 15 years, but I have little faith in the so-called research on vitamins. There is too many people involved that have a stake in the business. I find A, D and E combined serve my joint system in subtle ways. I feel more limber. You need that as you grow old. . . .
If you take a handfull of vitamins and some assorted herbs each day, the collecftive research would mean that each would, let us say on average give you some 8 years more of life. You add them all up and there is no doubt but what research proves you can live forever! charles, http://humanpurpose.simplenet.com

Vit D should be taken simultaneously with CALCIUM. I forgot exactly why (I'll look it up), but I think it requires calcium to assimilate properly and prevent taxing the body's already-established (or lack of) levels of calcium. RK
