Timing of testing - DNA question

If DNA testing were being done on a recently deceased person for the purpose of establishing a familial link to other long-deceased bodies, could it be accomplished within a six week period, assuming that all red tape (i.e. issuance of a court order to disinter the other bodies) was easily disposed of?

Depends on how well the body is being kept. But given a large enough sample I think it's doable.

Technically, if there is enough DNA to test (and this will depends on the conditions of the conservation of the body) the test itself is a PCR and will take only a few hours. The DNA extraction might be a longer process. It also seems that the samples are not treated as soon as they arrive in the few labs I have ssen advertising this kind of service. So it will also depends on the labs "backlog". Or maybe they can charge you extra to go faster?

Yeh should be cool, though I'm basing this purely on the idea that there is a neanderthal genome project. For goodness sake...
