and how would you do it?
Bombard Tobacco seeds with Luciferase or something?

No chance mate its very difficult. i had a go and left with a £700 hole in my pocket but no luck. It definitely requires a lab and expensive materials . And its illegal in UK. And I’m sure you need a permit in other countries.

Yeah another thing is how is it illegal?

Is it because they're afraid you would make an evil bacteria or something that could kill everybody.. or for some other reason? i dont really get it

Wouldn't it be neat to have a lawn full of glowing grass?

Any GM plants should be under close scrutiny...lets say you were developing pesticide resistance for example, cross contamination would be a big worry.
