It isn't a part of the treee, it kind of wraps around the tree leaves without touching much branch.

No, if doesn't move, have eyes, and I doubt it has a nervous system.

Do you have a microscope? If you do, i suggest taking a piece of that and coloring it with something for cell walls(Genevez solution is my advice) to see if it is a plant or an animal

Well i talked to my AP Biology teacher and she told me to show her the pictures tomorrow. She seemed 'excited'. So maybe I can do this as a little independant project.

I showed it to my biology teacher and she also said she has never seen anything like it before. She told me to look in a diachotamous(sp) key for it... I don't have the time =/

Well I think the fungus died, the hairs shrivelled off. I'm going to put it in a plastic baggy tomorrow.

Do diachotamous keys have pictures? =/

I didn't meant to dissapoint you but, no, diachotamous keys do not have pictures. :) There are some publications that have pictures but I don't think it is easy to have one...

A dichotomus key with pictures of everything would probably have 100000000 pages

100000000 pages sounds low... ;)

Soo interesting! Lol.. It's kinda sad that the fungus died. Isn't there anymore? I wonder if anymore of them will grow?
