Mosquito Eater?

Can anyone explain to me what a Mosquito Eater is? I was with my friend hugh and I spotted what looked like a very large mosquito, he said it wasn't a mosquito but in fact it was a mosquito eater... What is a mosquito eater?

But they don't actually eat anything as adults, even though they can look like giant mosquitos. We have them all over the place in the summertime.

Hmm that looks suspiciously like 'daddy long-legs' here in the UK - could it be?

That's the one!! Nice... And we have Daddy long legs spiders here in the US too... But the ones that I know of do not fly or have wings.

Here is a lot of such insects. As I know, there adults eat anything apart from nectar or dew.

Such giant moskito often fly to the room at evening.

That's awesome! I live in practically the only swampy area in New Mexico... So right around now we get a bunch of these little critters...

Why yes it is February Beetle!!!! I thought that it definitly was a mosquito, but my friend said "Danny, no..." and i was like "Dude, oh..." and that's pretty much how it went down...

There's also a fish called the Mosquitoeater (Gambusia affinis), which as I understand it is a terrible invasive, introduced to waters to control...mosquitoes!

I have seen such insects even in a place called munnar in South India but it is a place whose altitude is higher than where most of us live.
