mitosis v meioisisNow I know these processes are different, but how different really are they?
Ouch, that's one for you to go through with a decent textbook and a Mars bar I'm afraid.

Mitosis and MeiosisMeiosis is th division of sex cells, called gametes, There are two divisions which result in 4 daughter cells, in females only one cell matures fully(for the most part) and the others are discarded, in males all cells split evenly and all mature. Gametes ore hapliod, meaning they only have half the required chromosomes of the species. Female sex cells are eggs and males are sperm.
Mitosis is the division of body (or somatic) cells, There is one division with results in two identical daughter cells.(ex: liver cells, skin cells, ect.) They are dipliod, which means they have the same amount of chromosomes as the oringinal cell. This is a breif example of differences between these cell divisions. ^^
