Question on circulatory and cardiovascular systemHi,
I was wondering how can you distinguish between the circulatory and cardiovascular system. I'm sorry if this is general, but I tried googling it and most of the sites kept mentioning that cardiovascular was another name for circulatory. I'm taking a guess from what they say that the cardiovascular system is another name for circulatory system specifically for humans, but would that mean each circulatory system for different species have different names as well? Sorry if these are dumb questions, but any help would be appreciated.
Some people say circulatory system is the same to cardiovascular system but I am not agree, because there is another circulatory system, which we cannot ignore it because it is very important i.e. Lymphatic System. Its circulatory process is called as "surveillance" or patrol system

Well yes they are largely interchangeable, but personally I only use 'cardiovascular' when referring to the heart and its network of arteries, veins and capillaries.
EDIT: I should make it clear that I mean the heart and it's personal supply of blood vessels. Otherwise what I just said was a bit stupid.
So if I was asked to differentiate the two, it wouldn't be possible?
or could I say that the circulatory system is when blood circulates throught the heart, lungs and body and the cardiovascular are the organs and blood vessels involved in the process?
Well the heart and ALL of the blood vessels are involved in the process of circulation, so no.
I only meant that 'cardiovascular' could be taken as the heart and the vessels that supply it. 'Circulatory system' on the other hand refers to everything involved in tissue perfusion. You can differentiate, but it depends who you ask. It's not as clear cut as it should be, I recognise that, sorry
According to me (based on references):
Circulatory system/transportation system: 1. Cardiovascular system 2. Lymphatic system Cardiovascular system: 1. Pulmonary circulation: heart - pulmo - heart 2. Coronary circulation: heart - heart (self-feeding) 3. Systemic circulation: heart - body -heart ![]()
