its a bit of everything...please helphey guys.
this is all probanily pretty bais cfor you all but its confussing the hell out of me...i have a biology workbook and cant find answers to the following questions...if anyone cal help itd be awesome. 1-how many of each of the 3 types of blood cells are found in one litre of blood? 2- where are dyes commonly injected to study the coronary circulation? 3- how does the type of epithelium alter down the respiratory pathway? 4-how many chromosomes would there be in the new cell if the egg and the sperm each had 46 chromosomes? 5-where could you palpate the doctus deferns? thanks guys...any ffedback would be awesome even if its just sites or books that you can give me references for...cheers
Here are 2 of the answers:
1)Erythrocytes-----> about 4-6 millions/mm3. Leukocytes--------->5000-7000 /mm3 Platelets------------> 200000-300000 /mm3. Each type of leukocyte: neutrophil 50 - 70 % eosinophil 2 - 4 % basophil 0,5 - 1 % lymphocyte 20 - 40 % monocyte 3 - 8 % 4) new cell=zygote 46+46= umm.... my maths isn't good, thats why I'm studying bio. The answer is 92, i guess... It matters not how strait the gate

3. Do you mean what types of epithelium is there along the respiratory pathway?
If so, than Nose: not sure, but i guess pluristratified pavimentos keratinizated(like the skin). Also you ned to take into consideration the bipolar neurons needed to smell. Pharynx: pluristratified pavimentos unkeratinizated(like the esophagus) Larynx- Mainly unistratified cilindrical with cilia.At the level of the vocal cords it is pluristratified pavimentos Trachea-pseudostratified Main Bronchi-pseudostratified Bronchioles-unistratified cubic Real hard question!!! Hey bee,
For question no. 3, here's how it changes. External nose: keratinized stratified squamous epithelium Internal nose (nasal cavity): hyaline cartilage (nasal septum), pseudostratified ciliated columnar epithelium (olfactory epithelium) Pharynx: skeletal muscles, smooth most probably(wall), pseudostratified ciliated columnar epithelium(nasopharynx), nonkeratinized stratified squamous epithelium (oropharynx and laryngopharynx) Larynx: hyaline cartilage (wall), pseudostratified ciliated columnar epithelium (lining of larynx inferior to vocal cords), nonkeratinized stratified squamous epithelium (lining of larynx superior to vocal cords) Trachea: hyaline cartilage mostly (tracheal wall) Bronchi: pseudostratified ciliated columnar epithelium (primary, secondary and tertiary bronchi), ciliated simple columnar epithelium (larger bronchioles), ciliated simple cuboidal epithelium (smaller bronchioles), nonciliated simple cuboidal epithelium (terminal bronchioles) For no.4 Since in meiosis, the number of chromosomes is halved, the gametes each have 23 chromosomes (haploid). After fertilization, the zygote contains 46 (diploid). For no. 5 The ductus deferens can be palpated through the wall of the rectum. There is an 'IF' there. read carefully... It matters not how strait the gate

yes there is, Ozge, as you so subtly pointed out

Yup, I didn't see that one.
46+46=92. Although I think this is almost impossible to happen and if it happens, it is lethal to the zygote. As my professor jokes about it, it is no longer human: it is a monster. That's why it is an if statement... It matters not how strait the gate

It is a possibility that you didn't consider: think about a plant or animal that has 92 chromosoms. Then the sexual cells will each have 46

No, obviously not. We don't generate a powerful enough magnetic field to create the needed barrier from solar wind. Prolly the center of the world is a solid or semi-molten iron core
