Cellulose Binding Domains (CBD) were conjugated with fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC).

RP carried out the amorphous cellulose, CBD and CBD-FITC production,
made the adsorption assays and the image acquisition, participated in
the conception of this work and manuscript writing. ALA and ECF helped
conceiving the image analysis system. MV produced the antiserum. KR was
responsible for the TEM-immunolabeling experiments. MM is the director
of the research unit and helped to draft the manuscript. MG
participated in the conception and supervision of the work and
contributed to the manuscript preparation. All authors read and
approved the final manuscript.
