In many late-onset neurometabolic disorders, the first indication of the onset of disease may be behavioral or personality changes . [24],[25],[26],[27],[28] Severe irritability, impulsivity, aggressiveness and hyperactivity are also more common among children with mental retardation caused by a metabolic disorder. Some of the neurometabolic disorders presenting with behavioral problems and their diagnostic tests are given in [Table 4].
