Fig. 2. Complete procedure for the identification of the proteins corresponding to the disease-signal, by a RPHPLC- MS separation to collect purified fractions containing the candidate biomarkers. Each purified liquid fraction is spotted on the MALDI target and analyzed in order to select only those with the interest signals. The selected urified liquid fractions, are digested generically with trypsin. Protein identification can be carried out by MALDI-TOF Peptide Mass Fingerprint (PMF) analysis and by LC-ESI-MS/MS
fragmentation analysis.
